If you live along the Gulf Coast, you are familiar with structural damage that can occur as a result of a hurricane. Safety is a top priority of Sturdy Built Homes, and for that reason they are the first company in the area to use both Windstorm® Wall Sheathing and Hurriquake® nails Windstorm® Wall Sheathing provides a more effective and efficient means of meeting building codes in your area, while also saving time and money on each project. Because Windstorm® Wall Sheathing comes in vertical panels that connect the bottom plate to the top of the top plate; there is no need for metal stud-to-plate connectors or floor-to-floor straps. This alone can save over a thousand dollars per house in construction, material and labor costs. ![]() HurriQuake® nails are used in all Sturdy Built Homes wall panels to add extra protection. During a hurricane or earthquake, potential catastrophic damage is normally due to wall failure or collapse, and that can be traced in some instances to the nails that hold the structure together. Too often, the nail is pulled out or damaged resulting in the failure of walls. HurriQuake ® nails combine deep ring and shear shank technology along with a 25% larger nail head to produce up to two times the resistance to high winds. ![]() |
